On a personal note, my husband and I were thrilled to meet our first grandchild! Our son, Danny and daughter-in-law Danielle, are innately wonderful pet parents, love their friends’ children, and like all new parents are also learning how to juggle newborn care and sleep. We are relishing every minute we get to spend with beautiful Eevie and looking forward to every phase of her life as she grows!

I spent the first part of January recovering from long-scheduled surgery I had in late December. In these last weeks during January, though I was feeling better physically, I experienced absolute outrage and heartbreak watching the events in my hometown of the #TwinCities.
